We made it to Utica, NY today. We were going to go to Albany and drive up from there, but decided to get up early tomorrow and drive through the Adirondacks tomorrow before crossing Lake Champlain. As you can see, Chloey wanted to go with us this morning, but alas, we'll have to let the petsitter take care of her!
New York state is beautiful - vineyards and wetlands everywhere - passed the Erie canal several times and had a few quick peeks of Lake Erie (pics didn't turn out). The drive was surprisingly easy and not stressfull (710 miles today). Having the iPod sure helps!
We stopped to get gas in Columbus, and drove and drove and drove -we were sure the gas gauge was broken... turns out we are actually getting over 40 miles per gallon. Now, you all know Mike, he especially was jumping for joy! Go Kia Spectra!
